The Christmas Trees helping those without a home

With homeless related deaths up by 9% last year across the UK, Scottish homelessness charity is asking shoppers to choose a Caring Christmas Tree where proceeds directly help those in need.

Bethany Christian Trust is asking tree shoppers to help people without a home this winter by choosing a Caring Christmas Tree.

Bringing festive warmth into customers' homes with a Caring Christmas Tree helps to bring much needed care and support to some of Scotland’s most vulnerable people.

Priced from £45 and sustainably grown in Scotland, shoppers can buy a Grade One Nordman fir tree, with 100% of all proceeds going directly to Bethany’s work to support people who are vulnerable to homeless this winter.

The funding from this social enterprise helps to provide outreach, drop-in support, shelter, befriending, new opportunities and professional support to thousands of people during the harsh winter months.

This year marks the 20th anniversary since the initiative launched. Last year the project sold an incredible 3,322 trees and raised proceeds of £60,000 towards its work helping people in need across Scotland.

A regular Caring Christmas Tree customer said: “We get a Caring Christmas Tree every year. We enjoy our tree even more knowing that we are supporting a worthwhile charity. Cannot recommend highly enough!”

Another regular customer said: “We have ordered from Caring Christmas Trees for several years and had a great experience, in particular picking up in Stockbridge with the Christmas Market. It really gets you in the Christmas spirit, to have a hot chocolate and to buy several things from local vendors.”

Caring Christmas Trees are available to purchase online www.caringchristmastrees.com or by calling 0131 561 8948 from Tuesday 28th October. The trees will be ready for collection at various locations in Edinburgh, East Lothian, Glasgow and Fife throughout November and December, with delivery options for residents in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Balerno collection point will be at the Balerno Farmers Market on 13th December 2025
